Dear friends,

we cordially invite you to the 23rd Sacuki Cup!

This year's edition will be special because two sensei from Japan will come:

• Mr Fuminori Honda (Kyoshi 7th dan)
• Mrs Shizuka (Takahashi) Honda (Kyoshi 7th dan)

Both of them will lead the Saturday seminar, to which you are warmly invited; a special program will be prepared for both beginners and advanced practitioners.

Another novelty this year is examinations, which will be held up to the level of 4th dan.

On Sunday the Sacuki Cup will take place, an international Kendo tournament with a tradition since 2002. It is a well-organized tournament with a unique atmosphere that you definitely do not want to miss! Every year many members of national teams from several countries take part.

Program

Tournaments at Sacuki 2026:

• Juniors (boys and girls together aged 15–17, i.e. birth years 2011–2009)
• Women (16 years and older, i.e. birth years 2010 and older)
• Men Kyu (18 years and older, i.e. birth years 2008 and older)
• Men Dan (16 years and older, i.e. birth years 2010 and older)

In the individual tournaments, the juniors’ tournament will be held first, then women, then Men Kyu and Men Dan. After the end of the group stage of the Kyu tournament there will be about a 20-minute lunch break. The North vs South XV tournament will take place immediately after the individual tournament. The end and announcement of results will be after the end of the North vs South tournament. In the individual tournaments it is possible to register in only one category with one exception - only girls aged 16 and 17 may participate in both the juniors’ tournament and the women’s tournament. Men with Dan grade aged 16 to 18 may choose either to start in the Juniors category or in Men Dan.

For the tournament you can order a small lunch package for 80 CZK (please fill this in the registration form).

• In addition to the first three places in the individual tournaments, the following will also be awarded: an Award for the best fighting spirit and an Award for the most beautiful Kendo.
• Participants of this tournament must have equipment in proper condition
• Spectators will have free entry to the event.

North vs South XV Tournament

The “North vs South XV” tournament is a friendly match between kendoka from the north and south of the Czech Republic, which is part of the Sacuki Cup 2026 and will take place on 31 May 2026 after the NP tournaments. It will take the form of a match between two seven-member teams. The teams will be formed by captains appointed by the organizers. There will be spots for players from other countries.
